Larry Weber is a native Nashvillian who grew up in the Donelson community and attended Donelson Elementary and Donelson High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Eastern Kentucky University. He is a licensed, professional geologist who recently retired from a 47-year career working nationwide with prominent geologic and engineering firms specializing in geotechnical investigations, environmental services and construction materials testing. Larry’s interest in history and concern for the preservation of our community’s cultural resources prompted his involvement with the Friends of Two Rivers Mansion, where he has served as a board member and past president. In addition to the FTRM he has memberships in other local civic groups and national professional organizations including the Donelson Hermitage Exchange Club and the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Larry and his wife Kathy (also a life-long Donelson resident) reside within a couple of miles of the mansion and recognize the historic home’s importance in the heritage of our Donelson community. In addition to preserving and sharing our area’s storied history, Larry’s other interests include outdoor activities, travel, golf, antiques and restorations, leather craft, knife building and playing guitar.
